Stairlifts are designed for the rails to extend past the bottom step riser to the flat landing area for safe entry/exit on level ground. A standard fixed rail at bottom may not be ideal for some applications, and to solve this issue, the Harmar Pinnacle Folding Rail folds back to clear doorways and perpendicular hallways/walkways to the bottom landing that can be obstructed by the standard fixed rail. This removes tripping hazards and keeps the bottom landing area clear.

The Harmar design is auto-mechanical: it uses a intuitive linkage design that catches a roller plate fixed to the stairlift carriage to engage a receiver on the rail and fold automatically without the use of additional powered motors and parts that can require additional maintenance and service as time goes by.

The Harmar Pinnacle folding rail is not compatible with SL600HD Models.
